Falz Biography

The talented rapper , Falz’s real name is Folarin Falana and he was born on the 27th of October, 1990 in Mushin , Lagos State, Nigeria into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Falana who happen to be Lawyers and Human Right Activists.

Early Life and Education

He went to St. Leo’s Catholic Primary School, Ikeja, Lagos for his primary education and then Olashore International School, Osun state for his secondary education. After that, he decided to toe the line of his parents by attending the Nigerian Law School in Abuja and in 2012 he was called to bar. He furthered his education by attending University of Reading, England where he obtained his LLB Honours degree in Law.

Career Beginning

As a lover of music right from secondary school, he formed a group with friends, “The School Boys” and then later he released songs. First “WazUp Guy”, then “High Class” and then “Currency” which propelled him to the point where he was known in the Nigerian Music industry, he was brought into limelight. His kind of music is a combination of Afropop, Hip hop, old school sound and funny lyrics which he calls “Wahzup Music”. His kind of music has really stood him out among others. His excellent character in movies and music has won him several awards including Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, “New Money”, Best Supporting Actor 2018, The Headies Award, “something light ”, Best rap single 2018, The Headies award “27”, Best Rap Album, 2018 etc. He’s worked in close association with to Nigerian artists like Davido, Burna Boy, Olamide, Simi, Yemi Alade, Ycee, Reekado Banks, MI, Reminisce etc. He’s one of the top stars and one of the influential peope in the entertainment industry.
