Wizkid: Biography, Age, Early Life, Career Beginnings
Wizkid’s authentic name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun and he’s presently 30 years old being born on 16th July 1990, in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. His father is a moslem while his mother is a Christian and as a child he used to follow his mother to church. Like many other artistes in the music industry, his passion for music started when he joined the choir in his church and his passion made him grow from being just a backup singer to a lead singer.
He created a group; “Glorious Five” with 5 of his church friends and they released an album. Wizkid went to “Ijebu Ode Grammar school”. He’s never been able to complete his tertiary education because for him its music and nothing else. He’s dropped out twice from Lagos state University (LASU) and Lead City University. He was first known as Lil Prinz until 2006 when he changed to Wizkid . His popularity started when he dropped his single “Holla ar Your Boy” in 2011 and since then, he’s been setting the world on fire with his hits. His genres of music are Afrobeats, Reggae, R&B, Pop, Dancehall and Hip hop.
